Are you interested in how to clean your air pellet guns? Here are some tips:

  • How often? - clean your air pellet guns at least after every 1,000 shots. Some guns may need to be cleaned more regularly. They most certainly do not need to be cleaned as often as firearms.
  • Barrel - yes, you should clean the barrel. Not cleaning it all can hinder precision.
  • Cleaning rod - it is not recommended that you use a cleaning rod to clean the muzzle of your air pellet gun, especially if it is a precision air gun.
  • Felt bullets - these can be effective at cleaning the barrel, but there is also a chance they will get stuck within the barrel (and they are not too much fun to get out). Be wary of using them.
  • Spring piston - if you have a spring-piston gun, you need to be sure to perform maintenance on it so that residues do not build up too much in the compression chamber.
Who are you buying air pellet guns for today? Are you shopping for yourself? For a son or daughter? Some air pellet guns are great for children; and there are also some more powerful ones that are best used only by adults. Some air pellet guns work well for small game hunting as well as for shooting pesky vermin on your property. Some are ideal for teaching a child how to shoot – ideal for target practice and for shooting at tin cans.
